I've heard the term before and even poked around sites like Stepcase Lifehack and Lifehacker, but it wasn't until today I decided to claim the term for myself. Why? Because my life is:
- messy and extremely disorganized
- brimming with procrastination
- full of unhealthy life choices
- remarkably inefficient
- full of missed opportunities.
In short, I need a makeover. And what better time to do that than during a new year, right before a new semester, and only days after the new moon?
I want this blog to make myself accountable to myself and others. If you're like me, you start dozens of projects that never get finished, and if you're like me you're absolutely sick of it. However, if you're like me, you're also:
- lazy
Which means that you'd rather laze around playing World of Warcraft and roleplaying than working on boring things like productivity and efficiency. (Alternative name for this blog: Lifehackery for Lazy Geeks.) I want results, and I want them fast. Luckily, I am also:
- awesome
I'm going to test out different techniques for improving and streamlining my life, cutting out the crap and replacing it with things that make me happy, healthy, and productive. The awesome comes in because I'm going to be sharing it with you. Philanthropist of the year, that's me. :D My very next post, I'll be writing about my year-long, month-long, and week-long goals, as well as plans for this blog (and my others). The journey of a thousand miles starts with a to-do list, after all. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Ellen
